Bridgit scales investment, taking the total funding to over $1.7 billion
Sydney, Friday 16 October, 2026 – Fintech Bridgit has today shared that Macquarie Bank’s Commodities and Global Markets Group, (Macquarie) has increased its existing funding facility to Bridgit.
A range of lenders which include Citi Bank and Macquarie have now provided funding facilities with a total of over $1.7 billion in Bridgit on the back of sustained customer demand for Bridgit’s lending products.
In Q4 FY26, Bridgit supported 2% of Australian owner-occupier property purchases (excluding first home buyers), as more homeowners choose to buy their next home before selling their current one. Bridgit calls this Buy Now, Sell Later®, and it is leading the shift.
Now in its fifth year, Bridgit allows homeowners to unlock their home equity up to $10 million in just minutes with LVRs of up to 85% and has supported more than $8 billion in property transactions for over 10,000 Australian homes.
The business is seeing quarter-on-quarter growth of 28% in loan submissions (comparing Q1FY27 vs Q4FY26), despite a slowdown in the property market.
The success is underpinned by a 168% YOY (FY25 to FY26) increase in lending, as well as the business investing over $15m into its proprietary-owned, AI-enabled technology platform which is purpose built to deliver fast access and approvals to brokers and customers. It has established itself as a category leader, driving AI-led operational efficiency, whilst scaling the business with discipline.
Bridgit's growth is powered by its proprietary-owned AI-enabled technology platform, ATLAS, which automates decisioning and loan management from application through to settlement. Supported by Bridgit's AI decisioning engine, ADAM, the platform has reduced approval times to as little as 120 seconds, giving brokers and customers speed and certainty that traditionally take days to achieve via traditional lenders through manual underwriting. In addition, the business has had zero losses highlighting the strength of its technology capability and positive outcomes it provides to its customers.
Earlier this year, Bridgit also announced the successful trademark of ‘Buy Now, Sell Later®’, as well as a number of partnerships including Australian Finance Group (AFG) the longest standing aggregator, marking significant milestones for the business as it continues to dominate the home equity and bridging finance space.
Aaron Bassin, Founder & CEO, Bridgit, shared on the announcement, “Bridgit is fast becoming a category owner in the bridging and equity release space. Australian homeowners are increasingly choosing to buy now and sell later and even more so given the broader downturn in the property market.”
“Property is Australia’s largest asset class with over $9 trillion trapped in home equity. At Bridgit, we’re building the finance ecosystem to match. Until now, property-backed finance in Australia has been built for banks, not for the people who own the asset. We're reinventing access to property wealth, revolutionising how people unlock, use and create it.”
Mr Bassin also shares, “We’ve built Bridgit around technology that makes accessing home equity faster and simpler. We'll continue investing in our platform, growing our core products and developing new ones. Our ambition is to build the business with the scale, profitability and governance to access public markets over time. This investment is another important step in that journey as well as positioning us in our aspiration to becoming Australia's next fintech unicorn.”
Alhad Bhalerao, Division Director, Macquarie, said: “We’re pleased to increase this funding facility to Bridgit as it continues to meet growing demand for Australian homeowners”.
