Behind the Deal - Jasmine von-Senden
Meet Jasmine von-Senden, Business Development Manager, Queensland
Jasmine built her career on a simple rule: people never forget how you made them feel. Backed by ten years in customer service and four years as a Mortgage Broker, she brings real broker-side empathy to her role at Bridgit. Whether she’s workshopping complex scenarios or educating brokers on flexible tools beyond traditional bridging, Jasmine is focused on making life's big moves seamless. We caught up with her to dive into what really goes on behind the deal.

1. Tell us a bit about what you were doing before you joined Bridgit?
Before joining Bridgit, I was a Mortgage Broker for 4 years and prior to that I worked in retail customer service for over a decade.
Running my own business was a fantastic experience and I learnt so many valuable life skills from it. My main focus was always around the customer experience.
“People may forget what you said or did, but they never forget how you made them feel”. The skills I learnt in my previous roles have grown with me in my career and now as a BDM for Bridgit, my goal is to be the BDM that I needed when I was a Broker.
2. What’s a day in your life at Bridgit look like?
A normal day as a Bridgit BDM usually consists of workshopping deals, running scenarios and meeting with Brokers, while never missing an opportunity to consistently work with the internal team to keep communication flowing and maintain positive relationships in all areas.
3. What’s a hurdle you are seeing brokers and customers face in the current market and how are you trying to help solve that?
Most of my conversations with brokers lately have highlighted a lull in purchasing and an increased level of cautiousness from people looking to make their next move. Everyone seems to be pausing to watch and ‘see what happens next’.
But even while this pause is happening, everyone’s life is still moving forward, whether they choose to or not. It is my job to educate my brokers of the tools available to them that can help their customers in a variety of life events. Whether that be an emergency situation or a foreseen event, brokers need to know that they can assist in more cases than just a simple straight forward “buy now, sell later”.
4. What’s a change you think will happen in the industry in the next 12 months?
Markets always move. Change is always happening. Appetites are always changing and hindsight can sometimes be a cruel reminder of opportunities missed.
The core of it is, Australians will always need to move. Whether that is their next home, upsizing, downsizing, merging of households, divorce, going into aged care or making home improvements. Over the next 12months we might see an adaptation on how people make these changes using more unique and flexible tools like bridging.
5. What’s been your most memorable deal?
Every deal is important, but the most memorable deals are the ones that truly change someone's life for the better. The ones that give them the opportunity to move on with their life and let go of stress in the process. The deals that have emotional fuel, like an elderly person finally getting the care they need by affording the buy-in at an aged care facility or helping a messy divorce separate as clean and stress free as possible.
6. What’s a common misconception about the industry you love debunking?
I think one of the biggest myths that brokers face is that they think that Bridging is still limited to the traditional ‘Buy now, Sell Later’ model for the owner occupied. Bridgit offers unique and flexible ways for Australians to access their equity that the industry isn’t always familiar with. It is my goal to challenge status-quo thinking by building relationships with my Brokers and educating them on how they can use Bridgit’s niches to help more people move.
7. How would you describe the colour blue?
The colour blue to me is cool and calm. It reminds me of a clean smooth surface or a warm soft blanket that you snuggle into with a hot chocolate while you watch the raindrops run down the window outside. The colour blue is easy and relaxed, but also can be majestic and authoritative.
8. What would be your ideal weekend?
An ideal weekend is a long-weekend, and would involve some sort of travel or trying something new.
But on a normal weekend you will find me proudly sporting a “how hard can it be?” attitude, while I navigate trying to finish any 1 of the 100s of half finished renovations at home while a bluetooth speaker blasting EDM.
